Abstract: A 5 page paper which examines the career of British television writer Dennis Potter, with particular emphasis on his controversial 1969 TV movie on the life of Jesus, "Son of Man," to consider if Potter's aim was to free his audience from being scripted, why were none of his films comedies; and the consequences that always made his heroes go down in defeat.
