"The Joy Luck Club": The Movie and the Book

Abstract: A 6 page paper which discusses the differences between the movie and the book "The Joy Luck Club" written by Amy Tan. The paper discusses how Hollywood often has a way of playing up the spectacular aspects of the United States, while playing down the immigrants who came here. Hollywood often portrays all other countries, from which the immigrants come, as something horrible that should be escaped from. And, while the movie and the book being discussed are incredibly close, there are aspect which illustrate this condition of Hollywood portrayals. No additional sources cited.
