Subculture of Violence: Reducing Subculture Crime Among Today's Youth

Abstract: A 6 page discussion of the factors which interplay in subculture crime. Identifies three premises that in order for crime to exist among our nation's youth there must be a motivated offender, a ready target, and the absence of a capable guardian. Identifies the media as playing a large role in shaping each of these factors. Concludes that greater parental and societal involvement with our youth is the only means of reducing subculture crime.
