Humor and Laughter as a Therapeutic Tool

Abstract: An 8 page overview of the value of humor and laughter in physical and psychological therapy. Reviews the physiological effects of laughter and presents correlations which would indicate that it could be used an effective therapeutic tool in counseling. Emphasizes, however, that individual reaction to humor varies and that careful thought should be employed in its use in the counseling environment. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
