Abstract: An 8 page paper which examines the cinematic contributions of Italian director Roberto Rossellini and his impact on the European film genre known as neorealism, which emerged immediately following World War II. Specific concentration will be on the films considered to be Rossellini's masterpieces, Open City (1945) and Paisan (1946). Bibliography lists 5 sources.
