New Latin American Cinema Analyzed

Abstract: This 6 page research paper examines the trend in new Latin American cinema of moving away from the epic and toward the crucible film form by first defining the terms epic and crucible, and then comparing and contrasting the new Latin American cinema of the 1950s and 1960s and the that of the Nineties. Also considered are the differences between Latin American films and the mainstream films being produced in North America and Europe. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
