Spirituality of Neolithic Man ; The Relevance of the Megaliths

Abstract: This 4 page paper looks at the history of man during the Neolithic Age. Many scholars have presented the idea that the megaliths were built as a result of the transition to farming from a hunter gather society, making it possible for these megaliths to be built. This paper argues that it may not have been due this change in life style, but an increased spirituality which lead to the building of these monuments combined with better technology, which in turn lead to the sedentary lifestyle. Comparisons are also made with the current practise of Ancestor worship in some parts of the world. The bibliography cites 6 sources.
