Blackface

Abstract: A 6 page paper that discusses the many different aspects of the use of blackface in the theater and other entertainment fields, and how the banning has influenced the entertainment field today and the general representation of different races. A discussion involving specific productions and characters is included, as well as illustrations regarding black minstrel groups. Essentially it can be stated that with the end of slavery and the political determination to head in a new direction, blackface was eventually banned. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
