Abstract: A 5 page analysis of the influence of Stanislavski, the creator of 'method acting', on theater in this country. After a description of Stanislavski's life and method, the paper looks at his influence on particular playwrights such as Miller, Hellman, and Odets, and on the actors who performed in these plays.
