Wagner/His Operas

Abstract: A 6 page research paper that examines the work of nineteenth century composer Richard Wagner. The writer argues that Wagner's place in operatic history is indisputable. The nature of his musical achievement is discussed, the first two operas in the Ring cycle are summarized, and the hypothesis that Wagner greatly influenced Hitler's Germany is briefly disputed. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
