Accessing Patient and Nurse: The Theories of Orem and Peplau

Abstract: A 7 page discussion of the need in medicine to assess patient needs and to address those needs with appropriately gauged nursing services. Discusses the variance of need in accordance with the theories of Hildegard Peplau and Dorothea Orem, especially Orem's Self-Care Deficit Nursing Theory and Peplau's observations on the interaction between patient and nurse.
