Amending the Freedom of Information Act

Abstract: A 5 page paper discussing the Ford-Firestone case and suggesting amendment to the Freedom of Information Act. A suitable amendment to the FoIA would be one requiring companies to provide information more open to categorization according to product type. All SEC records are fully accessible to the public, but in today's merger-oriented world it is often difficult to determine what company produces what product. Categorization of information may have returned Firestone's name on Ford Explorer searches, leading regulatory agencies to Firestone's corporate door perhaps before there had been any deaths. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
