Life and Death in "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead"

Abstract: A 5 page paper discussing the issues of life and death contained within this play. Shortly before his death, Guildenstern notes, "There must have been a moment, at the beginning, where we could have said--no. But somehow we missed it." Of course Guildenstern's immediate concern is his own mortality and that of his friend Rosencrantz, but he speaks a universal truth of life. We all have control of our lives to great extent. The same is true for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, and their lives likely could have been longer had they realized that truth earlier. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
