Canada's Northwest Explorers

Abstract: A 15 page paper discussing Samuel Hearne (1745-1792), John Henry Lefroy (1817-1890) and Sir John Franklin (1786-1847), all explores of the same region of extreme Northwest Canada. All had interest in the famed Northwest Passage, but finding the passage was more than only a passing interest for him. Each of the explorers had different motivations. Not all expeditions were successful, but there was value even in those that were not. Bibliography lists 13 sources.
