Abstract: This 5 page report discusses the business of professional basketball and the fact that it actually has a great deal in common with the strategic management of any corporate entity in terms of its competitive nature, determination, and hustle. The Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers have served as an almost textbook example of the ways in which a professional basketball (or any other sport) team serves as an example of management paradigms that accentuate the most fundamental aspects of managerial conflict, positioning, and the processes involved in re-defining an organization in order to keep up with changing markets and consumers.
