Abstract: A 15 page discussion of the medical technique of the stimulation of pressure points through acupuncture or acupressure. Traces the techniques back through history and prehistory observing that while the techniques themselves have varied little our understanding of why the work has improved tremendously. Defines the term pressure point, notes the importance of diagnostic techniques, and outlines the physiological responses which occur in response to manipulation of these pressure points.
