Abstract: This 5 page report discusses How individual ethnic and cultural groups in America have defined themselves and how that definition has fit into the American sense of self has existed nearly as long as the United States itself has existed. It is important to understand that the attitudes surrounding race in America are not issues defined in terms of black and white (pun intended). It is also essential for the observer of racial attitudes in America to be aware of the fact that the issue is much more than simply a matter of white versus color. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
