The Hispanic Community in West Texas & Texas Law Enforcement

Abstract: Increases in the Hispanic populations nationwide have impacted communities and defined a new process of interaction with law enforcement officials. This 15 page paper considers the changes and impacts of police in states like Texas, as they have struggled to define these communities and distinguish between illegal immigrants and the rights of Hispanic-Americans, with a close look at the issue as it pertains to one example: the city of El Paso.
