Abstract: This 5 page report discusses the fact that throughout the world, the gap between the rich and the poor has continued to expand at an alarming rate and the population group that suffers the most is children. The poverty levels and problems facing children in the UK are briefly discussed along with a comparison to the status of children in other parts of Europe with a particular emphasis on the successful French system.
