Writers attempt to reach out to their audiences by way of specific characterization that reflects real-life situations in fantasy settings; as such, the message is put across in an entertaining and meaningful way. Two stories that accomplish this objective extremely well are Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, both of which are experienced within a science fiction setting yet strike a chord with the reality every individual understands.
