Abstract: 8 pages in length. Throughout and subsequent to its existence, the Roman Empire possessed significant influence upon other societies, ultimately playing a substantial role in the overall development of Europe. "For such is the might and greatness of the Roman People, as to have carried the awe and esteem of their Empire beyond the Rhine and the ancient boundaries" (Halsall, 2002). However, the strength required to establish such an empire proved to be one of the critical elements that contributed to its fall. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
