U.S. Cold War Policy: Kennan School of Containment Verses NSC 68

Abstract: A 9 page overview of the varying foreign policies which were employed by the United States during the Cold War years. This paper analyzes the differences between the policies suggested by George F. Kennan, a diplomat and U.S. State Department adviser on Soviet affairs, and those entailed by the report issued by the National Security Council entitled NSC-68, a report generated upon the insistence of President Truman who initiated a reconsideration of American foreign policy at the end of the 1940s.
