Consequences of the Implementation of the McKinney Act Concerning Homelessness

Abstract: A 3 page overview of the problems associated with the implementation of the McKinney Act and dealing with the homeless. This paper reviews data for Santa Cruz County California to reveal that despite the implementation of various provisions to address the problems of homelessness, the problem only continues to grow. It is suggested that simply providing food and housing is not a solution but instead that individual needs assessments must be made which specifically address the problem of homeless not being able to find jobs which provide them with a livable wage.
