Abstract: This is a 6 page paper discussing the Classical and Romantic periods of music. Classicism or the Classical Period (1750-1820) of music was quite different from that which followed it found in the Romantic Period (1820-1910). The Classical Period was known for its shift away from the flowery Baroque Period and toward more balanced and simple pieces which were performed before a public audience.
