Abstract: A 7 page research paper that posits that globalization, per se, is not the problem, but rather how globalization has been mismanaged. The writer looks at the 1999 merger of Chrysler Corporation and Daimler Benz, as an example of how the corporate cultural ramifications of globalization have been overlooked and underestimated. Citing Waltz (1999), the writer also discusses how globalization has resulted in a form of world governance that results not from democratically elected officials, but rather from the urges of a "herd" of investors and other stakeholders. Lastly, the writer describes how mismanagement of globalization has also occurred on a governmental level, specifically when governments have failed to protect their population from the negative effects of multi-national corporations (MNCs), which often have instituted practices in other countries that they would have never taken in their own country. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
