Krispy Kreme Expands To Japan

Abstract: An 8 page paper that begins with a brief overview of where Krispy Kreme has located its stores and which countries they are considering. The paper discusses different entry methods to the Japanese market, including different kinds of joint ventures, franchising and wholly owned subsidiaries. The writer explains some of the laws and regulations that apply to food-type companies in terms of operating in Japan and also in terms of importing ingredients. At the time of this writing, McDonald's and Krispy Kreme were in discussions regarding a partnership that would bring Krispy Kreme donuts into Japan through the McDonald's Japan corporation. The advantages of such a deal are discussed as is the growth of the fast food industry in Japan. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
