Maslow as Motivator

Abstract: A 5 page paper discussing Maslow's hierarchy of needs as they apply to employee motivation. Maslow formulated his hierarchy of needs 30 years ago when he determined that people universally first ensured that they had the means of sustenance and safe shelter, and then organized themselves into groups as a result of a need for a feeling of belonging to another, larger unit. His theories were psychological curiosities for years, but except for fairly isolated instances were never really put to the test in the organization until only recently. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
