Abstract: A 12 page paper that first presents a description of an ethical dilemma that is based on the Northlakes ethics case. In this scenario, John, the manager of corporate reporting is expected to sign off on a report that includes false data. The report is being presented to a legislative committee by the CEO. The essay discusses the behaviors of John's boss and the CEO, the consequences of going against expectations, and the cultural assumptions. The writer then discusses the relationship between ethics and organizational culture and comments on management styles that promote or discourage ethical behavior. Handy and Harrison's types of organizational culture are explained. The benefits of ethical management are reported. What John should do is discussed. Bibliography lists 11 sources.
