Simon-Modeled Corporate Decision Making

Abstract: An 8 page paper discussing Herbert Simon's Theory of Suboptimization and drawing correlations between it and the non-profit organization. The theory recognizes that managers work under conditions of "bounded rationality." Managers must make decisions at the time the decisions are required, and they may not have available all the information with which to arrive at the optimal decision. Also, they may not be fully aware of the meaning information that they do possess, and the resulting decision is one that is less than optimal. According to Simon, it is suboptimal: "good enough," but not the best possible. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
