Abstract: 6 pages in length. Throughout America, African-American women are the most underrepresented of all corporate managerial positions. At a mere twelve percent of the entire female work force, black women make up only seven percent of all management positions. However, that represents only one minority who is overlooked in the management world; Hispanics, Asians and women in general are routinely omitted from management promotions. When they have managed to earn higher status within their companies, most often through considerably greater effort, they are not given the same amount of respect nor regarded as impartially by their subordinates as are their white male counterparts. The writer discusses the various difficulties that plague minorities in management. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
