Abstract: This 10 page paper looks at the way breast cancer has been perceived in terms of causes and treatment. The paper starts wit the Ancient Egyptians and includes, but is not limited to the work of Hippocrates, Galen, Leonidus, Henry LeDran, Henry Arnott and William Halsted and brings the concepts of breast cancer into the modern day. The paper considers how the concepts theories and attitudes reflect the level of knowledge the beliefs and the values of the age in which they occur. The bibliography cites 15 sources.
