Mechanical Ventilation in the Meconium Aspirated Neonate

Abstract: A 7 page discussion of the interventions typically made in newborns that have inhaled meconium contaminated amniotic fluid. Mechanical ventilation is one of the most common of these interventions. Mechanical ventilation does not come without certain costs, however. Although these costs are considered as a necessity numerous efforts are underway to find alternative interventions for MAS. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
