Abstract: An 8 page research paper that examines the sociological debate that current surrounds the topic of fatherhood. The writer first examines the writing of David Popenoe who maintains that fathers have suffered a severe loss of status in modern society and advocates a renewed emphasis on traditional family structure and values.
