Imperialism and Social Hierarchy

Abstract: A 3 page paper discussing three specific readings. Each of the sources provided for review share a common theme, that of denouncing imperialism in either real or imagined forms. Vietnam's Declaration of Independence (n.d.), an excerpt from Nkrumah's (1968) The Spectre of Black Power and commentary on Kipling's "White Man's Burden" all serve to illustrate the path of development of social divisions in modern "empires" resulting from stronger nations imposing their wills on weaker ones. Race, class and political status hold major roles. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
