Johnston Atoll

Abstract: An 8 page research paper that investigates the varied history of this tiny South Pacific Island. The writer explores the entire history of the island, but concentrates on events in the twentieth century when the atoll was used for nuclear weapons testing and later for weapons storage. The destruction of US weapons, which was conducted on the island is also discussed, along with the fate of the personnel who carried out this mission and the island's possible future.
