Abstract: A 10 page research paper that applies the concepts in James David Barber's The Book of Democracy to modern day efforts in Russian to establish a democratic system and a free market economy. These factors are force, totalitarianism, law and reason. The writer demonstrates how these forces are at work in modern day Russian democracy. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
