Abstract: An 11 page paper discussing optional routes for raising capital. Organizations outside the US have sound reason for wanting to raise capital for themselves in the US stock market, particularly through being listed and traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Many businesses that would not object to the SEC's disclosure requirements cannot meet the stringent financial requirements of the NYSE; others object to what they view as intrusive questioning regarding the financial health of their businesses. Other alternatives for raising capital exist, such as the use of American Depositary Receipts (ADR), which are still traded on major exchanges but under the guidance of a corporate sponsor. Only the receipts are traded; the shares remain within the home nation. Bonds and debt capitalization also are optional alternatives. Includes a one-page abstract. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
