Abstract: This 12 page paper discusses the complex issues related to pharmaceutical liability. Using a scenario in which a drug company knows a new medication might cause serious health problems for a very small percentage of users, the writer explores the question: should this knowledge be made public by the vice-president, who is likely to lose his or her job by making a public statement. Specific cases are reported, some of which are very similar to the scenario. Pharmaceutical liability law is also discussed. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
