The Importance Of Critical Thinking, Articulation And Self-Reflection In A "Still-Myopic National Culture"

Abstract: 5 pages in length. The manner by which Scott's project of articulating "a social science that uncovers contradictions and possibilities" (Scott 533) relates to Loffreda's concerns by placing much of the responsibility squarely on the shoulders of those who - by virtue of living in a free country - have the capacity to draw conclusions based upon the weight of a given informational source and their own intrinsic understanding: the general public. Individuals must be held at least partially accountable for seeing through the artificial glaze that serves to reflect the very foundation upon which the components of a supposedly democratic nation operate.
