Social Work: Dealing with an Unlikable Client

Abstract: This 3 page paper discusses the case of Betty S., and a therapist's possible reaction to her personally and to her situation. It argues that despite the fact that the initial reaction could well be one of disgust, the therapist must pull away from making any sort of judgment if he is to engage in effective intervention.
