Three Short Musical Essays

Abstract: A 5 page paper that contains three short essays on three specific topics. These are: Beethoven's Fifth Symphony as 'absolute' music, compared with Berlioz's 'Symphonie Fantastique' as 'program' music; Mozart's 'The Marriage of Figaro' and Verdi's 'La Traviata' as revolutionary opera; and The Lives of Mozart, Schubert and Mendelssohn.
