Barrington Moore & Immanuel Wallerstein: Main Ideas

Abstract: 11 pages in length. The study of social sciences is an ever-evolving component of man's existence that illustrates what it takes to understand human beings, their connection with each other and the environment, as well as how/why this particular species strives to constantly progress itself despite the consequences of doing so. Barrington Moore and Immanuel Wallerstein are two of the most prominent theorists of the twentieth century whose respective ideas have helped people gain a significantly better realization of the benefits and drawbacks that have accompanied such tremendous changes throughout the past century. Each man's theories have served to enrich the ability to compare and contrast ideas that may not be altogether complementary but at the same time work synergistically to create a more holistic understanding of the issue.
