Distinguishing between nature and nurture where gender construct is concerned means looking more closely at the biological (genetic) versus environmental (cultural) components. The extent to which both elements play a role with regard to gender performance of mental rotation tasks is both grand and far-reaching; that nurture (socialization) takes precedence where the spatial performance of these tasks are concerned speaks to how certain learned behaviors influence the response time between male and female.
