Abstract: 16 pages in length. Technological improvements within the medical profession would have practitioners from a century ago shaking their collective heads in awe and disbelief. The extent to which nuclear medicine has surpassed the expectations of technological advancement only fifty years ago is both grand and far-reaching; that its usage is incorporated into myriad procedures for disease detection speaks to the growing trend toward this nontraditional approach to health care.
