Abstract: A 5 page paper discussing examining articles from three different information systems publications. "Strategic planning" has become a popular corporate term over the past decade. Simultaneously, organizations' Information Technology (IT) departments have gained respect that they had not previously known as their value in pursuing and achieving competitive advantage has evolved and become recognized.
