Social Rituals

Abstract: 5 pages in length. Rituals - the acts of social interaction as simple as having coffee together or as considerable as slaying an animal for sacrifice - define the fundamental connectors between and among global communities. People interact through rituals based upon their cultural mandates; for Americans to sit down to a meal where dog is the main course defies the very foundation of what is appropriate, however Filipinos consider this to be entirely acceptable. Indeed, the vast and various tenets that bind people to the rituals in which they partake serve to define the subtle nuances that comprise the human race. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
