Social Resistance

Abstract: 3 pages in length. To discuss social resistance without referring to racial discord throughout the ages is to overlook one of the most critical examples of the delicate balance of the controlling/controlled relationship. The historic value of blacks asserting their resistance against the heartlessness of white domination is clearly chronicled in Gaines' "A Gathering of Old Men" whereby the author illustrates the extent to which people can be pushed within the confines of oppression before they turn and face the opposition head on and with full force.
