Family Violence and Counseling

Abstract: A 10 page research paper, with footnotes, that discusses the problem of family violence. Spouse abuse is defined within the context of using intentional physical force or psychological abuse that is meant to "hurt or attempt to hurt" a spouse or partner. This examination of family violence will summarize various aspects of the complex topic, focusing primarily on partner and child abuse. In addition to giving a general overview of what experts believe to be the factor involved in perpetuating domestic violence, strategies for treatment and counseling will also be examined and summarized. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
